PQMD Pillar Talk: Access to Global Surgical Care as a Moon Shot

Thursday, May 9, 2024 @ 11AM ET

It is estimated that more than 5 billion people-more than 2/3 of the population of our planet- lack access to urgent surgical care. This translates into a shortage of nearly 23,000 neurosurgeons to bring life-saving and quality of life-giving care to patients who suffer from brain, spine, and nervous system conditions.*

Please join us on May 9th for PQMD’s Pillar Talk - Access to Global Surgical Care as a Moon Shot to hear data and inspiration from leading neurosurgeon Dr. Gail Rosseau about this lack of access to one the most basic of human rights - health. Using the example of President Kennedy's "Moonshot" speech in 1962 and the successful development of the Apollo program and manned lunar landing in 1969, Dr. Rosseau will make the case for similar investment of time and resources for global surgical care.
